On 3rd January 2011 Amendment No. 8 to the Israeli Patent Act, 1967, was signed into law by the Israeli Parliament. Amendment No. 8 adds a new section 166(a) to the Patent Act, which together with other minor amendments, enables the Israeli Patent Office to publish information relating to patent applications and patents via the Internet without the need to print paper copies, with a few exceptions relating to the State's archives and the Patent Office needs.
